Análisis del discurso y pragmática de la lengua
Discourse analysis and pragmatics
Resumen: Esta línea engloba todos aquellos estudios de lengua que persiguen la interpretación situada del texto y los fines para los que se produce la comunicación. Los elementos relativos a la estilística también se incluyen aquí. Se trabajan textos de todos los periodos de la lengua y de naturaleza diversa.
Summary: This research line includes studies related to the interpretation of texts and the goals of communicative events from all periods of languages. Texts are studied from a social and a structural perspective

Análisis prosódico del discurso
Prosodic discourse analysis
Resumen: Esta línea valora cuestiones de prosodia en eventos comunicativos y la repercusión que manifiesta en la interpretación de los mensajes.
Summary: This line assesses issues of prosody in communicative events and the impact it manifests in the interpretation of the messages.

El lenguaje del turismo
The language of tourism
Resumen: En esta línea se pone en valor el papel de las lenguas en el desarrollo de los contenidos turísticos y los géneros relacionados con esta disciplina.
Summary: This line focuses on the role of languages in the development of touristic information, including the development of the textual genres associated to the discipline.

Lingüística y lenguas aplicadas
Linguistics and applied languages
Resumen: Se persigue el análisis de la lengua de especialidad para determinar configuraciones específicas según los géneros y los registros estudiados. Los corpus de trabajo pueden ser de origen temporal diverso.
Summary: Specialized languages are analysed in order to identify text-type, register and genre variables. Corpora may include texts from all periods of a language.

Women’s studies
Resumen: Esta línea investiga los trabajos de mujeres de varias épocas, e incluye tanto a personajes reales como ficticios. Se realiza a través del análisis del discurso desde disciplinas como la estilística y la argumentación retórica con el fin de valorar el efecto de sus palabras y sus obras en el auditorio.
Summary: This line researches on women’s works from various periods and includes both real and fictional characters. The investigation is conducted through discourse analysis, and includes disciplines like stylistics and rhetorical argumentation with the aim of assessing the effect of women¿s words and works upon the audience.

Research projects
The group is currently engaged in two different research plans. The first one concerns the language of tourism from a multidimensional perspective, including the analysis of phonics in media. The second one seeks to study the language and dissemination of domestic and non-domestic instructional writings in Modern English by women.
