Dra. Conchi Hernández-Guerra is an assistant professor in the Department of Modern Philology, Translation and Interpreting at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. She has worked for the institution since 1999. Her PhD. was a contrastive study between Clive Staples Lewis and Plato. Since then, she has taught different English subjects. 

At present, her research fields are English for Academic Purposes and Discourse Analysis and her research articles have been published on prestigious journals on the field of philology and linguistics, such as Journal of Communication Inquiry, Onomázein: Revista de lingüística, filología y traducción, Revista de lingüística y lenguas aplicadas, Revista Espanola de Linguistica Aplicada, Ibérica: Revista de la Asociación Europea de Lenguas para Fines Específicos, among others.
