Domínguez Morales, María Elena
Dr. Elena Domínguez Morales is a senior lecturer of English Philology in the Department of Modern Philology, Translation and Interpreting at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and a member of the research group Discourse, Communication & Society (DiCoS). She received her PhD at the Polytechnic University Valencia.
She has attended a number of international conferences as a speaker, such as for instance the 2nd International Conference on Language, Education and Culture (ICLEC 2019); 11th Brno Conference of English, American and Canadian Studies; 14th Teaching and Language Corpora Conference; AESLA 2022. Intercultural perspectives on language varieties, among many others. These presentations have dealt with the language of academic discourse in different registers.
Her publications are in the field of English for Specific Purposes in the field of tourism, and teaching and she has published on this respect on journals such as Revista Signos. Estudios de Lingüística, Language Value, Revista de Lenguas para Fines Específicos, among others. She is also author of chapters in books published by prestigious publishers, such Tirant lo Blanch and Gedisa.
